Christmas 2011

I know everybody says it, but I cannot believe that 2011 is coming to an end.
I'm not going to go repeat everything that has happened this year so I'm just going to say this: Should be exciting to see if I survive 2012!

All jokes aside, it's been very rough and emotionally challenging.
I honestly don't know where I'll be this time next year.
Not even 6 months from now.
I hate not being able to plan ahead (not that I ever really plan anything), but bit's like some of my freedom is taken away from me.
I know the world is constantly changing, but for myself and my life, I have a fear of changes.

All I know is that I will move some time next year..
But when, where and how?
No clue!
For my own good, I'm not going to have any high hopes about next year.
That way, I wont get disappointed no matter what happens.
A little depressing, but that's how I get through life.

Here's a few pictures that I took yesterday and the day before.

I had a movienight with my mum on the 23rd <3

Christmas Eve :)

Saturday, 17 December 2011

I wish I had a clever headline for this post, but I can't think of one right now.
I thought about doing a video about what happened on thursday night, but when I think about it, I don't want to show my face on video these days.
So this is what happened...

I went out on thursday afternoon to have dinner with my friend, Even.
Everything was going smoothly and I felt good.
Until midnight..
I woke up as usual with the feeling that I had to go to the bathroom, so I got out of bed, turned on the bathroom light and did my thing.
As I was sitting there, I got more and more dizzy.
Then it got so bad I decided to just go back to bed.
I didn't get that far.

When I came out in the hallway, I couldn't see a thing and passed out.
I think I was out for a few minues before I woke up and saw that I had knocked over the pieces from my old closet.
After only a few seconds, I felt the need to puke and do other things, so I literally crawled back to the bathroom, where I spent the next 20 minutes.
When I was resting my head in my hand I realized that my hand was wet.
So I turned on the light and saw that I had blood all over it.
Then I looked over in the mirror and saw that I had ripped open my jaw.
Apparently on the friggin closet in the hallway.

I had to gather my thoughts before I even dared to go out in the hallway again and I went upstairs to mum's apartment.
By that time, it was past 1 am.
She freaked out and woke up my grandparents.
After 10 minutes we were on our way to the emergencyroom.
Good thing we did, because I needed three stitches.

I did also take some pictures, so if you dont like seeing blood and stuff, don't scroll down.
Here's the before and after pics:

Right after the accident

After three stitches

Bloody band aid.
Itches like crazy.

The next day, I noticed a few scratches on my left arm.
I fell hard.
Would love to say that those are battlescars, but they are far from it.

Anyways, I just wanted to update you guys on what's going on because some people were wondering.
I wont be making any vlogs as long as I have to wear the bloody patches on my face.
I'm taking the stitches off on friday and hopefully I can stop using the band aids on tuesday.
It's going to be awkward to wear this crap to work.

But I need to get some sleep :)
Hope you guys are having a better weekend than me.

It was one of those ''nothing to do at work day'' today and I always hate that.
Don't get me wrong, I like to relax, but I sit on my ass enough at home as it is and when I'm at work I'd like to have something to do.

After work, I dropped by the grocerystore with my co worker to grab some food before heading home.
As usual, I picked up the mail and I found a package for me from Nelly.
It was some NYX and Wet N Wild products I had ordered over a week ago.
I almost started dancing out there next to the mailboxes.
A little embarrassing,  but at least I managed to contain myself.

Four products I've literally been dying to try and I've had all afternoon to play around with them.

One other thing I'm excited about is a new book I bought like three weeks ago and it's one by Jennifer Cody Epstein called ''The Painter of Shanghai''.

Should be good.
Love the cover, too.

But anyways, I really should be heading to bed.
I feel and look washed out and I need to catch up on sleep.
Have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.

Have a good night everyone :)

Angry phone!

If you didnt know, I'm a HUGE fan of the famous game Angry Birds.
I want those kind of speakers you can put your iphone or ipod in, that is from the game as well.
But I can't really afford one as of right now, so I decided to get something else:

A new iphone case <3
I was torn between the red and the green one, but since they were sold out of the red, I got the green :)
So awesome!
I'll probably buy the red one if I see it somewhere else.

Project 365

I was watching a video on youtube of Leesha aka xsparkage, and she was talking about this thing she was doing called Project 365, which is basically her taking a picture every single day for a whole year and uploading them online.
I thought it sounded pretty cool so I decided to start doing that from january 2012.

But where to upload them?
Dailybooth? Instagram? Twitpic? My blog? Facebook?
Probably on Instagram.
Easier to upload from my iPhone.

Picture of the day:
She's pretty much been sleeping all day.
Wish I could do that and just chillout at home.
The life of a cat seems so simple.

Room saver!

I got my hands on the Urban Decay Naked palette many months ago and I was always a little frustrated because it took up a lot of space in my makeupbag.
I read about the Z Palette and wanted to get my hands on one.
So I could take all the shades I use a lot from my Naked palette and place them with magnets in a new and smaller one.

I finally found that I could order those from Coverbrands and I got the one in pink.

I took 8 of the 12 shades from the Naked palette and a quad from Isadora and managed to get the eyeshadows out without breaking them.
Put them all in the new palette and now I suddenly have more room in my makeupbag.
So clever!
Perfect for travelling :)

Mama's got a brand new bag

My new bag from NYPD.
Love it!
The only downside is that there's some weird flower pattern on the inside.
Never thought I'd ever buy a brown one, but I love the design so I honestly don't care.

Beautybay package!

Yesterday, I finally got my package from Beautybay that I have been waiting for for two and a half weeks.
It took forever, but I was so happy when I picked it up at the postoffice.

I only ordered three things and I'm glad that I don't have to return anything.
I got the Too Faced shadow insurance (finally), an Urban Decay Deluxe shadow and the cocktail party from Bare Minerals.
I'm already in love with all of these products.
Happy Melissa ^_^

My new baby

I recieved my package from Makeupmekka in the mail today.
Been looking at the palettes they have for a while now, but I couldn't really decide which one to get.
I ended up with the one I knew I'd use the most.

This will get a lot of love from me.

They had one with blue, green and some purple in it, but I knew I would spend more time looking at it than I would actually use it.
Waste of money!
But anyways, I'm set for years with eyeshadow and I've put myself (once again) on the ban list for buying eyeshadow.
I guess you could say it's my one makeup related item I can't get enough of.
Also, no more nailpolish.
I'm literally painting my nails in different colours every other day, just so I can use up all the polish I have.
Such a girly girl.

One of my favorite bags died today :(
Such a sad moment.

I know, I'm such a twat..
But what can I say?
I love hangbags and purses and I really struggle to stay away from stores where they sell them.
Especially if they are black with studs.

But since I had to throw away my bag, I decided to start using the one I bought at the Rock N Roll store in London two years ago.

It's kind of obvious what one of my all time favorite bands are.
I bought the buttons at the same store.
Its a fairly big over the shoulder bag, which is absolutely perfect because I carry a lot of ''crap'' around.
I'm a typical girl, I guess.

I went a little crazy

In the makeup section today.
I knew I needed to buy a new foundation and a powder but I guess I got a few more things along with that:

As you can tell, I bought a ''few'' more things than I had originally planned.
Three of the things, I recieved in the mail yesterday, but it's still a lot of products to just randomly buy.

Anyways, I need to hit the sack so I can be as fresh for tomorrow as I possibly can be.
Goodnight lovely people :)

New storage

As of lately, I've been watching a lot of makeup collection and storage videos on youtube and I wanted to come up with a clever way to store my makeup crap.
So I went to town before 10 am this morning, almost ran down the staff at Clas Ohlson and looked for a storagebox with drawers.
This is what I found:

A bunch of small drawers on the top and a big one at the bottom.
Wasn't sure if I would be able to fit my Urban Decay Naked palette in it, but I did without a problem.
Now I have all of my makeup in that and it will make things so much easier.

Notice the dusty Buddha statue?
I love those but I guess I should clean it :)
It collects dust so easily, so after a while I just can't be bothered.

Since I woke up at 5.30 am and it is now 9 pm, I am officially exhausted.
Been such a long day with shopping, organizing, cleaning and helping mum out.

I'm going to head to bed and maybe I'll go for a walk tomorrow morning if it doesnt rain ( like it has for the past two weeks now).

Goodnight everyone :)

Happy day

I was tired as hell when my alarm went off at 5.30 this morning and I thought that this would be one of ''those'' days where I barely do anything.
By 7 am I was proven wrong.
I suddenly was hit with a huge energybomb and I was literally running around all over the place at work and did twice as much work as I usually get around to before lunch.
Then I was exhausted for like an hour and then the energy came back.
So I've been running for about 90% of my workday.
It's safe to say that I was happy about going home afterwards.

I got one thing in the mail that I have been waiting for and I was so pleased when I unpacked it.
I have always loved coffeemugs, and especially since I started drinking coffee when I was around 16, so when I saw this online I couldn't help myself.

I'm such a fangirl <3

Also, since it's falltime, I decided to switch up my usual red nailpolish to something a little darker.

H&M's polish in ''Moody Model''.
I've had it for months, but never really thought I'd ever use it.
Now that I'm looking at it, its rather badass :)

But right now, I have to wrap up this week's episode of diggnation while having my standard cup of tea.

Goodnight everyone :)

One Tree Hill Marathon

I am having a OTH marathon these days.
I recieved season 5, 6 and 7 in the mail today.
Only missing number 8 (not released yet).

There's something about this show that gives me so much inspiration and I never get sick of it.
So I finally got my head out of my ass and bought the rest of the seasons on dvd.
Can't wait for the ninth and second season coming out later this year.
It's going to be awesome to see how it all ends.

Just looked at the time and I've been watching tv for the past 6 hours.
I guess I have to head to bed if I want to be able to wak up tomorrow morning at crazy am.

Goodnight everyone xx

Walking to work at 6.45 am.
Gorgeous weather.
Everybody seems to be so moody these days while I'm on the top of my game.
Fall must be my bestfriend <3

Late night walk

I went for a walk with my mate Even last week and here's a few pictures I took:

It was so gorgeous.
The sky was pink, grey and blue.

Nothing beats a late night walk in the fall.
Most people get depressed when fall and winter comes along, but I guess I'm the only one ''waking up''.

Love fall everyone :)
Best time of the year.

Thursday, 22 September 2011

So I've been pretty busy this week.
There haven't been one day where I could just chill at home after a long day at work and don't have to worry about having to be elsewhere.
Even today, when I felt like absolute shit, I had to join my mum and my friend Even to drive all the way to Bjerkvik so mum could look at some new furniture.
Had a major headache and I was extremely hungry.
The perfect ending on a very stressful and slightly shitty day.

One thing that did cheer me up today was something I recieved in the mail:

Yeah, I'm an old school Mortal Kombat fan.
I remember playing the old version on my gameboy almost 12 years ago.
Such a great game.
I have to admit that this ''newer'' version is a bit tricky.
Not as easy as the old one.
And oh lord, how much I hate that Jade character.
I can never seem to kick that bitch's ass.
Everytime she beats me she looks so cheeky.
I probably wont go to bed tonight before I beat her.

Off to game some more.
Friday tomorrow!!!! :)

Foggy morning

Earlier this week when I was leaving the house to head to work I couldn't see a damn thing.
It was foggy as hell and I could barely see anything in front of me.
I tried to see the view from the footballfield at school but all I could see was this:

Reminds me of the movie Ghostship.
Haven't seen it in forever so I might have to look it up again.
I'm a huge fan of Gabriel Byrne, so I try to keep up with his tv shows and movies.

But I am now off to hang out with friends.
Have a good saturday night :)

New laptop

I'm finally back after almost a week without a computer.
Been a very interesting week, but I must say I was very close to pulling my hair out yesterday.
I am, like many others, addicted to my computer and several days without one is like a year in hell.
The one I got this time is a little cute netbook from Acer Aspire:

It is SOOOOOOO cute and very tiny.
I could definitely fit it in my bag.
The colour is a huge plus, too.
Never had one like this before.
All of my previous laptop have been black, silver and dark blue.

So far I'm very happy with it.
Lets just hope it wont slow down after only a few weeks.
I'm going to try not to fill it with loads of crap like I always do.

Anyways, I have to jet.

Goodnight everyone :)

Foggy Monday

When I went to work this morning I noticed the fog and I thought it looked pretty.

The not so pretty thing about that fog was that it was a little sign that it would rain non stop for over a day.
I dont mind a little rain, but when it pours down and you can't be outside for more than 5 seconds without being soaked, it's not fun.
(Which was the case when I was walking home.)

Laundry day

It really hate laundry day.
I always end up with a huge loads of clothes that I have to put back in the clothes, and I'm quite frankly too lazy to fold it all.
Most of the time I just throw the clothes in there and when I open the closet, the clothes always end up on the floor.
I am currently staring at this pile:

It actually makes me sad for some odd reason.
Maybe because it's friday and I'm exhausted.
All I know is that I can't go to bed before I've folded all of my clothes.
Fun fun fun xD
Wish me luck!

Bad kitty!

One of my cat's favorite things to do is to roll around in my clothes.
It makes me slightly irritated with the knowledge that she just took a shit in the litterbox, then covered her crap with her paws and then walk with the same paws all over my clean laundry.
Damn you!

But she's so cute <3

Colourful obsession

I have, for as long as I can remember, loved nailpolish.
I'm not a huge fan of the french manipedi (too girlish for me), but I prefer bright colours.
As you can see, most of my polishes are from H&M and Depend.
I've tried Dior and other expensive ones, but they chip and fall off after only a few days.
I do have around 5 polishes from BarryM and I love those too.
But all in all I prefer the cheaper ones :)

I think I wear red the most, but I also have my periods where I wear a lot of black, blue and pink.
I've gotten into purple nailpolish lately, which is odd because I hate that colour.
Trying new things doesn't hurt anyone, I guess.

But I'm off to play some online games at

Tata guys :)

My love

I bought my first pair of converse in 2009 and I thought it was about time to expand my future collection of Chuck Taylor's glorious shoes by getting another pair.
This time I wanted to go with a different model, but of course, in the same colour as my first ones.

I can't wait to get these in the mail.
Hopefully in the middle of next week.

I bought my first pair in England for under 40 pounds and I have to pay over 60 pounds for this pair here in Norway.
No wonder I go crazy shopping when I'm there.
Especially at Superdrug and Boots.
Makeup heaven <3

I am in the middle of painting my nails at the moment so I better wrap this up before I end up with nailpolish on the keyboard.

Have a good saturday night :)

Book of the month

I am always looking for a good book to read and I'm currently reading 'Perfect Timing' by Jill Mansell.
She is my second favorite author.
J.K Rowling takes the gold in my book.
Funny thing is that they're both british.

Anyways, I really want to be a fulltime writer but I know it takes a lot of work and creativity.
Hopefully I'll be able to get my life together, at least enough to be able to focus on my writing.

For now, all I want is for these two weeks to pass as quickly as they can.
I want school to start to I can go back to my old job and not hang around the high school anymore.
I guess I'm spoiled with having the freedom to make my own schedule and when I can take breaks.

I'm off to have a quick shower before bedtime.
Have a good one people :)

Bloody week!

The first week back from my vacation was absolutely insane.
I guess I wasn't really prepared for this much work and I've been struggling with staying awake.
It's a bit strange that I can barely stay awake at work, but when I go to bed at night I can't fall asleep.
No wonder I'm knackered in the morning.

I guess that's why this happened yesterday morning:
Yeah, I cut myself shaving my legs.
The most annoying part about it is that I don't have time for cleaning up this sort of mess before work.
Sometimes I really hate starting early.
But I guess I should stop shaving when I wake up.
It takes me at least two hours before I can properly focus on doing things the right way.
I know I'm slow, but at least I'm not grumpy :)

But anyways:
It's actually getting late now and I still have a few things to do before I hit the sack.
Have a lovely saturday night people :)

Mel the ripper?

I'm feeling good after getting through all of my paperwork and ripping up old bills for up to 1 hour by hand.
My hands were literally burning afterwards.
I should probably invest in a paper shredding machine.
Can you find a picture of me somewhere?
So cute, yeh?

I know... What happened? xD

Anyways, I'm not ready to start working again tomorrow morning, but I guess I have to at some point.
So I'm going to wrap up this post, take a bath, read a little and have a cup of tea before I hit the sack.
But before I can fully relax, I need to shut my computer off.
I get easily distracted.

Have an amazing week and behave yourself ;p

Friday, 29 July 2011

I had a healthy food fit at the grocerystore today and I ended up making this for dinner.
Left me still hungry, though.
I guess I'm just used to eating till I'm full.
I'll also start working out three times a week again.
Time to pick myself up and focus on getting back in shape :)

Anyways, I'm in the middle of watching an episode of Ugly Betty.
After that I'm off to bed.
Nighty night people!

Terror in Oslo

At 3.20 pm today, there was an explosion in the middle of Oslo city.
2 people are confirmed killed and 15 injured.
Oslo is far away from me but it's still in the same country, so I'm slightly scared.
I also have a few friends living in Oslo.

Picture taken from

My thoughts goes out to those who were killed and hurt in the attack.

We've been a target for many years now, but I guess we never thought it would actually happen :(
Hopefully, the primeminister will do whatever it takes to make sure it doesnt happen again.
But with the way things have been going, I seriously doubt that this will be the last time.

Birthday blog

Today is my 23rd birthday and unlike most people I'm staying home.
I'm watching tv shows and movies and answering emails.
I'm going to celebrate on wednesday with a few friends.
The plan is to make dinner and then we're off to watch the new Harry Potter (which I'm SO excited about).
I'm off to mums to have cake.
We're also going to watch beauty and the beast.
One of my all time favorite disney movies :)

Have a great monday evening people!

Beloved Dior

I did a rather expensive purchase a few days ago and for once I don't actually regret it.
I've been looking at the 5 shadow palettes from Dior because I love the colours and quality.
I paid around 94 dollars for it.
Yes, I'm aware that it's too much to pay for a few eyeshadows, but I couldn't help myself.
I'm more of a drugstore girl when it comes to makeup, but it doesn't hurt to try new things.

I did also buy this amazing green nailpolish at H&M and I painted my toes.
I would put up a picture, but I don't feel like posting my feet online..

Anyways, I have to head to bed and rest up for the last day of work before my vacation.
Never thought I'd be this excited about waking up tomorrow.

Have a good one people :)

So it's the time of year when the fun fair comes to town and this year they presented a new ride called the G-Force.
After you've seen this, it's obvious what I'm afraid of.

Kind of scary!
Me and my friend were just standing there looking at those crazy people actually going on that ride.
I got sick just by looking at it for 10 seconds.

But I have to jet.
I have to get up early tomorrow for work.
Nighty night :)

My birthday dress

Since my birthday is comping up, I was looking for a new dress.
While I was shopping on H&M, I came across this awesome dress on sale.
I wasn's so sure on the size, but I decided to order it.
It arrived today and it fits perfectly.

Excuse the mess.
I've been very busy lately :)

Loving the back.
The dress is shorter and more revealing than I'm used to, but I love it.
I paid £15 for it, but the original price was around £35-40.
Best purchase of the month.

Found an old flame

This phone was announced in 2004, I believe, and I remember how popular it was.
I came by this phone in a phone swap online.
Never really used it, but I just love the design.
And hot pink is also one of my favorite colours.
Yeah, I'm charging the phone, too.
Just wanted to check if it still works.
I can't use it with my current micro simcard, which is meant only for iPhone 4.
But yeah, I just wanted to show off my badass old school phone.

I better get my ass in bed, though.
Its 10 pm and I'm trying to get enough sleep every night.

Nighty night :)

Welcome to my town

I was out and about a few days ago and I took these pictures of Narvik.

Looks amazing, yeh.
Didn't think so.
Everyone here says that Narvik looks better in the dark, because then you can't see anything.
Did you know that Narvik won the title ''Ugliest town in Norway''?
It's true!
Wasn't really surprised, but it made me laugh.

Anyways, I'm off to bed.
It's been a very looooooong week and I get to sleep tomorrow.

Nighty night guys :)
